Darren (J.) Anthony is a Jamaican-Canadian playwright, screenwriter and producer, based in Toronto, Canada.

His breakthrough came with Secrets of a Black Boy, which premiered in Toronto to a sold-out run, toured the United States, and concluded at the Theatre Passe Muraille main stage.

Darren created the comedy series Dwayne Has Issues, developed with CBC, and was named one of Playback’s “10 to Watch.” He recently served as Executive Story Editor on Hate the Player: The Ben Johnson Story (Paramount+, 2026).

Darren’s current project, A Black Panther in the Great White North, is being developed as a play and limited series.
